With the 17-year cicadas being prevalent in some areas and nearly non-existent in mine and others, I’m wondering if similar variability is true for chiggers. Since I’m ‘traveling’ in the same area for the most part, I assume my increased number of bites is due primarily to the climate this spring. But they might prefer some grasses to others. Also the bites, while visible on my skin, itch much less than usual. These differences are fascinating to me, though I don’t keep records for better understanding. Thank you for your notes.
